~Hiccup’s POV~

I rode on Toothless’s back as he flies through the snowy night. The cooling breeze brushes pass me, sending a chill down my body. Flying with Toothless was something I lived for. I don’t know what I would be doing if I didn’t have Toothless. What would I be doing if I didn’t have my dragon? Most importantly, what would I be doing if I wasn’t Guardian of Autumn? I shake my head, getting rid of the thoughts in my head, and look down at the town as it lights up through the night sky.

“Don’t you just love this, Toothless? Flying through the sky during the night,” I ask him.

    He merely groans in response.

I look up at the moon and give my salute to Manny. Even though he couldn’t do it back, I still thought it was appropriate to give my respects to him. I mean, if it wasn’t for him, I probably wouldn’t be the person I am today. Suddenly, Toothless jerks and whines, grabbing my attention. I tighten my hold on him, praying I wouldn’t fall.

“What’s wrong, Toothless?” He maneuvers himself to lower level. I look towards the ground below us but find nothing. “I don’t see anything.” He continued to persist, assuring me that there was something worth finding.

Then, I finally see what he wanted me to look at all along. “Is that Luna?” I was able to make out her figure through the dense forest. But before Toothless and I could make our way over to Luna, we quickly realize she wasn’t alone. A tall, and should I say dark, figure stood by her. “Oh no, it’s Pitch. C’mon Toothless we have to go get help.”

I tug at Toothless’s rein, ushering him to turn the other way, but he protests at first. After some convincing, Toothless and I make out way through the sky in order to reach the others. I wish I could’ve stayed behind to help Luna, but I know I couldn’t confront Pitch alone. Who knows what he had under his sleeves.

~Time Skip~

By sheer luck, Toothless and I make it to North’s Workshop in record time. After landing in our appropriate landing position, I guide Toothless through the large doors, the entrance to the building. After we pass a few corners and climb the stairs, we notice everyone lounging around at base. Rapunzel and Anna were busy brushing through all of Rapunzel’s long golden hair (Which, in my opinion, probably took them the last hour or two to untangled, depending if she was doing tennis practice). Kristoff and Flynn were too busy playing video games to notice that I returned. Jack was gathered with the other guardians. Elsa was merely playing around with her powers, freezing any object that was near her. And, Merida was doing (big surprise) archery, but even though she was the most focused on her work, she was the first to notice that Toothless and I returned.

“Hey, Hiccup. That was a quick trip,” she says.

“It was suppose to take longer, but we were interrupted. Look, I have to talk with you and everyone else.” I walk alongside her as we meet up with everyone else.

                “What’s this about?”

“Toothless and I saw Pitch,” I yell out in order to gain everyone’s attention. With that, everything grew silent.

“What?” Merida, Flynn, and North say in sync.

“It’s not the worst part. He was near Luna. I don’t know what was going on, but it didn’t look good.”

“Why didn’t you fight him, then?!” Jack says. He looks straight into my eyes; his glare sending daggers right for me. If looks could kill, I would drop dead at that very moment.

“As much as I wanted to, I possibly couldn’t fight him alone. Who knew what kind of tricks he had?”

“Wise decision, Hiccup, but I must ask, did it look like Pitch was going to hurt Luna?” North asks.

“It didn’t look like it. He was just hiding in the shadows like he usually does. Probably stalking Luna from the looks of it.”

“Then, I don’t believe Pitch would’ve hurt Luna.”

“Are you kidding me?!?” Jack yells.

“Jack, calm down. I would’ve known if Luna was in danger. I would be able to feel it… in my belly.” North points to his large stomach.

“Fine, but if Luna isn’t at school tomorrow, I’m blaming you.” Jack points at North. Then, he stomps away from us and goes off to another room.

“Geez, what’s up with him?” I ask. I was probably the only one in the dark on the situation.

Merida leans closer to me and says, “Him and Luna broke up.”

“Oh,” I say. Well, I so did not see that coming.

~Luna’s POV~

After Pitch teleports that both of us through the shadows, we wind up in a dark tunnel. I frail my arms around, unsure of my surrounds. From someone else’s point of view, I most likely look like a child navigating through a hallway, blindfolded. After a few seconds of making a fool of myself, I felt a hand grab my arm.

    “Just, follow me,” Pitch states.

I nod, though I don’t know if he noticed (What am I saying; he’s the Nightmare King for crying out loud. He can practically see in the darkness). ‘Gee, what a great first impression? Nice going, Luna,’ I thought.

After he guides me through the dark tunnel, I could notice, some, light coming through. Finally, after going through the end of the tunnel, I find myself in complete awe as I glance around the dark atmosphere. Only a, rather large, single ray of light was the only thing that provided some light to the lair. But, it is the Boogeyman’s lair so darkness was best thing to showcase that. I would only have to get used to it.

With the little light that there was, I could point out the cages hanging from the ceiling and all the random stone bridges and stairways that lead to different locations. It was going to take me a lifetime trying to figure out where they lead. I could pin-point a few of the structures actually falling apart, but other than that, everything looked sturdy. The cavern looked like the ideal castle of darkness. While I look around at the structure, I continue following Pitch making sure that I didn’t wind up lost in the dark maze Pitch calls his lair.

“I see you’re quite fascinated with everything,” he says.

“I can’t believe that this is all yours. This place is amazing. It’s way better than North’s workshop and Bunnymund’s cove.”

“I appreciate someone with a good taste in architecture. But, I should correct you. It’s not just my home; it’s yours as well.”

“I can’t believe it!” I squeal. I would want to jump in place but the decaying stone behind me told me it was best to stay still.

“Follow me and I’ll show you your room,” he state.

“My… room? You have a place for me already. I just told you I would join your side like a few seconds ago.”

“Well, I always have extra room for my allies. Ever since I first asked you to join me, I always had a place for you in case you ever agreed.

“Oh. I guess you were pretty confident.”

    “I suppose I was.”

With that, I follow him through several stairways and hallways until we stumble across a semi-gloss black door with a silver knob. He opens the door and allows me to enter the room. Once I was inside, I couldn’t believe at what I was seeing. The bedroom had dark (almost black) stone walls and dark grey tile floors. A queen-size bed was positioned at the other side of the room and it was covered with a soft purple blanket and black silk pillows. On the other half of the room, a black wooden study desk stood against the wall; two lounge chairs, one purple and another grey, was placed on top of a grey rug at the center of the room. And to top it off, at the end of the room was a huge window with black silk curtains on each side, and a window seat with had an array of different pillows that varied from black, grey, and purple was placed on the bottom of the larger window.

“I can guess that you like it,” Pitch says.

“I don’t even think that ‘love’ can cover it. This is absolutely amazing! How did you know my favorite color was purple?”

“Lucky guess. And don’t worry; I’ll take the liberty of collecting a few of your belongings from your old home.”

“Thank you.” I give him a kind smile.

“It was no trouble at all. It’s the least I could do. After all, you did choose to side with me.”

I gaze around the room then walk towards the huge window, which was covered by the curtains. I tug open the curtains and was fascinated by the breath-taking view. There laid a crisp panoramic view of the forest. I thought a view like this only came from a million dollar mansion, not an underground cave. Well, you can’t judge a book by its cover.

“I figured you would enjoy a view of nature as well as some light in the room; I mean, a young lady like you can’t have too much darkness.”

“It’s beautiful, but, I thought we were underground. How am I able to have a view like this?”

“My lair is bigger than you think, and this room happens to overlook the forest, giving you the best view.”

“I can’t believe this is all for me. This is the best room ever.”

“I’m glad. Now, I believe you need your rest. You’ve had a hectic day and you can’t come up missing school the next day.”

“But, what about everyone? What if they find out I’m working with you or find out about my powers?”

“It’s going to be fine. They’ll be the least of your worries.” With that, he exits my room and shuts my door. Without hesitation, I jump onto my bed, covering myself with the soft sheets, and quickly fall into the best sleep I’ve ever had in a long time.
